NSF- Public Speaking & Science Workshops

Hello. It’s the bee season again.  This year we are conducting Public Speaking Bee again in addition to Math Bee, Spelling Bee, Vocabulary Bee, Science bee and Geography Bee contests by North South Foundation for Indian American children. The Public Speaking and Science Bee contests will be in March while all others will be in April.

We are planning to have Public Speaking workshop and intermediate science (grade 4 and 5) bee workshop on Sunday February 15th.  For the first time, we are planning to have free NSF Portland Public Speaking workshop by renowned and reputed public speaking coaches Cathey Armillas (TED Speaking Coach and Organizer) and Darren LaCroix ( 2001 Public Speaking Champion 2001).

Saturday February 15th (at Intel Jones Farm Conference Center)

Intermediate Science Bee (grade 4-5) from 1 pm to 4 pmRegistration required. Fee:$35 (www.northsouth.org)

The online registration for workshop and contests are open. A portion of the registration fee is tax-deductible. Please go to our website www.northsouth.org and register your children (parent login).  The registration will close 1 week prior to the workshop date and 2 weeks prior to the contest date. You have to register in order to get access to the practice word list. Check out the on-line games as well.  It’s another fun way to prepare for the competitions. 

Singapore Math books will also be available for purchase will be sold at Apna Bazaar starting weekend (Jan 31st – Feb 1st and also on Workshop day (Feb 15th at Intel JFCC). Quantities are limited.
